artist story:
david t. joseph, whose best known as lil pix, is an aspiring producer/rap artist from
manton. a small urban area located on the north side of providence, ri a.k.a. p-city. he
has been producing and recording music for an independent label called p-city records
for four years. he has co-produced and help release six cd’s in the past three years. from
the six cd’s released was blaq chizz’s debut album, “the struggle 4 life†and lil pix’s first
single, “we stay real†off his debut duo album with blaq chizz, “overqualifiedâ€. also, lil
pix has co-produced and released three mix tapes: “the hustle vol.1â€, “the gossip vol.1â€
and “the cranium: mix tape file 007-24â€. aside from just releasing these cd’s, which all
sold out throughout rhode island, lil pix has done quite a few show, club and festival
performances in the past three years. the last couple performances he had were at club
mirage in providence, ri, the black festival in aug 06’, the black rep. club in providence,
and snookers lounge in providence. lil pix has also done performances at rhode island
college, the columbus theatre, the jamaican festivals, african american festivals and
various different talent shows in providence. also, as the opening act for the 2005beat
down records showcase, lil pix was featured on a dvd special, which was in stores in
southern new england. besides rhode island, lil pix has managed to put cd’s in places
such as ohio, boston, connecticut, louisiana, honolulu, new jersey, vermont, south
carolina and miami. he also managed to get decent amounts of each cd in other countries
like nigeria, the bahamas and the dominican republic. as a producer with great
versatility, lil pix has worked with artists from various genres of music. lil pix has recently
produced and released a new single called, “slide n stepâ€, which features p-city records
recording artist, blaq chizz. his most recent accomplishment was getting this song
regular airtime on a rhode island radio station, 95.5wbru. it was airing every sunday night
during the month of sepember 06'. lil pix speaks about the reality of what goes on in the
world around him as well as making music you can dance, think and cry to. lil pix has
recently started a rap group that will be heard from very soon, called dem bape boyz.
consisting of five rappers from rhode island and boston. these rappers include stylez
fresh, donne dinero, frank fetti and dj sincere. in time, the full musical capabilities of lil
pix will be shown. |
