MEET THE ARTIST: absente artist story: “if he didn’t drink absinthe, he would be somebody else. personality must be accepted for what it is. you mustn’t mind that a poet is a drunk, rather than drunks are not always poets.” in early fall of 2007 we (the band) will be releasing our very first album titled "here for now" with producer dave dunn. after building our studio, we raised our glasses and toasted with the drink absinthe. and so became the name “absente”. at least that’s how we remember it…. “after the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. after the second, you see things as they are not. finally, you see things as they really are, and that is the most horrible thing in the world.” oscar wilde
